JEANNE D’ ARC vs THE UNDEAD: Zombies have never faced a more righteous adversary!

15th century Europe is a stomping ground for turmoil and gloom. In 1431 specifically, the populous is still recovering from the Black Plague, trying to survive the Hundred Years War and about to see their greatest warrior burned at the stake!

Joan of Arc, the Maid of Orleans, has lead men to victory in battle, survived grievous wounds and befuddled her accusers, all within the last few years. Despite miraculous deeds, she’s been condemned to perish from this world in a ghastly manner. When suddenly, the dead arise from a mutated variant of the dreaded Pestilence. Jeanne d’ Arc is freed by her assigned executioner and given a new purpose — to purify Europe of the zombie hordes!

I’ve long had a fascination with this real life heroine. Joan’s exploits are some of the most accurately documented tales from medieval history – and they will blow your mind! Although, her true story would make for a decent comic book, zombies add that little monstrous something – and I think it’s about time for this battle of the ages!

God calls upon the protagonist to stop the zombies!

There is a connection between the zombie infection and a real historical plague!

So far, all the main characters will be based off their real life counterparts!

There’s a lot of Zombie stuff out there right now. Most of it is fun and great! I still think The Walking Dead takes the cake when it comes to the grittiness of what a true apocalyptic world would be like. I want this story to be just as gritty and just as real! This is a world that’s just a generation or two from the worst plague in the history of mankind, and now a zombie outbreak erupts? Death is the daily expectation. There will be much sadness in this world but…

Jeanne D’ Arc will be the shining beacon of hope!

His work on the Jeanne d’ Arc vs The Undead has been outstanding so far! You can see it throughout this post – and this is just a taste!

We are looking to make a five page pitch and send a packet to a few companies/contests. The pitch starts at the very beginning of the first issue and should make one tighten up their bootstraps! Oh… and should make you want more!

If the pitches aren’t successful, I want to kickstart this. I think zombie fans would be interested in seeing the undead go up against a truly righteous adversary. I think there are some Joan of Arc fans out there too… or at least some history buffs who would like to read this “What if” type of scenario.
